1. Volunteering my first day was pretty easy Nicole and I went to help kim at the elementary school. We started by telling all the kids about what we are doing this time around and had them take surveys about what they knew about growing food and how they normally ate
2. My expectations for this would be to help the community in anyway I can. To show progress in the community and help spread the word of community sustainability. Also to show that yampah student aren’t just a bunch of delinquents.
3. I used to go to work with my dad and he’s a plumber and i learned that manual labor happens wherever you go and that everybody needs help fixing something. I learned that when can’t do something they call for help and with that i want to be the person to help that person out. And so far that seems to be happening i seem to find myself helping everyone and i enjoy that.
4. Moving food forward was an organization that help provide fresh food around the community. They help teach people and whole towns how to be sustainable with their food. They teach classes to little kids so they can learn how to grow food properly. Also to help educate the community about growing Food safe and naturally. That to me is a great thing to teach communities.Non profits are places that only rely on donations and the kindness of people to help them. They help the community stay in motion without needing a lot of money and using whatever to get. The people that work for non profits are a lot more giving and caring. As well as strict and demanding. When you work/run a non profit organization your helping the community with whatever is giving to you and in return giving it back to everyone.
5. Yes i would work in a non profit organization for the fact that people are nicer and actually want to help instead of just to make money.
6. Civic responsibility to me means that if i have a responsibility in anything i have to keep up with it and make it work for everyone in the area and civic responsibility is having something you do in the community that you and everyone else can make it a safe and happy environment for everyone.
7. Well i don’t really remember what happened this week but i know that every week i feel proud seeing all the happy kids we got to help teach with kim. Everytime i saw one of their happy faces i felt like i had done something to help the younger generation and they will teach that to others.
8. If i was a supervisor i would try to treat everyone with the respect they deserved until they lost it but then i'm not the type of person to get mad over little stuff. I wouldn’t really change what the volunteers do because if they come more then once they kinda know what to do so thats not an issue. For the people who come only once or twice i would have them do easy stuff unless they look like they are ready to work.
9. I get along with really everyone. I just have conversations with people and are kind about my words and i think that helps a lot with getting along with others.
